We specialize in treating a wide range of neurological conditions, including dementia, memory loss, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), migraines, neuropathy, epilepsy, Huntington’s disease, neuromuscular diseases, cerebrovascular disease (CVA), and stroke. Additionally, we offer neurophysiology testing such as electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG).

Dr. Wendell Helveston
Dr. Wendell Helveston is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating neurological disorders. A graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned magna cum laude honors, Dr. Helveston attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine, graduating in the top quartile of his class.
He completed his neurology residency at the University of Florida, where he trained under prominent leaders in the field, including Dr. BJ Wilder, Dr. Ken Heilman, and Dr. James Willmore. During his residency, he was honored as Chief Resident. Following his training, Dr. Helveston pursued advanced specialization through one of the nation’s leading Epilepsy fellowship programs at the University of Texas in Houston. His dedication to neurological care ensures that patients receive expert, compassionate treatment tailored to their individual needs.
Chanci Helveston, NP
Chanci Helveston is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She began her medical career at Pearl River Community College, where she was inducted into the Beta Mu chapter of the Alpha Delta Nu nursing honor society. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2024, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Following her advanced studies, Chanci spent ten months training alongside Dr. Helveston, gaining hands-on experience in the diagnosis and management of neurological diseases. Her dedication and expertise allow her to provide exceptional patient-centered care, ensuring that each individual receives the highest level of medical attention.

Rachel Smith, NP
Rachel Smith is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She began her medical career at Mississippi State University, where she earned her bachelor’s in education for Kinesiology with an emphasis in Clinical Exercise Physiology. After graduating, she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant. She then went to the University of Southern Mississippi and earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree.
Rachel worked at Baptist Hospital on the cardiovascular and thoracic step-down unit for 3 years before continuing her education. She went to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she graduated with her master’s in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and education on neurological disorders alongside Dr. Helveston and Chanci Helveston, NP.
